Rehoboth Requires Determination

Wednesday, April 20, 2016 | Rehoboth Requires Determination | Sis Foluke Babatunde

determination 1

Opening words by Pastor Tim Babatunde: Determine to worship and interact with God deliberately not passively. Relate with Him as if He exists and actually listening to you, because He is.

Rehoboth Requires Determination
Isaac had a sizable portion of challenges: famine, open hatred, continuous and malicious harassment from enemies lying in wait. One thing stands out, he kept moving forward.

This reveals a sheer and unwavering determination from the very beginning.
Beloved, Rehoboth is yours but requires your determination, practice the following:

  1. Be determined to press on no matter what
  2. Refuse to be discouraged
  3. Refuse to faint. Hold fast, renew your strength in the Lord, for if you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small.
  4. Keep pushing until you achieve the expected end.

Face opposition headlong and remember that opposition comes from within and without.

Let us fight this good fight and win the promised victory, Joseph did it and David faced and conquered Goliath.
Rehoboth is yours, it’s mine, let’s put on determination!

SCRIPTURAL REFERENCES

Genesis 26

Isaiah 40:28-31 “28Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint”

Proverbs 24:10:
If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small.”

From Stewardship To Rulership 2

Faithfulness is required of God and faithfulness is needed for ENLARGEMENT.

Wherever we find ourselves, let us be faithful. Faithfulness can dig us out of any hole and place us on a great pedestal.
Faithfulness led Joseph from the pit to being the head of Potiphars household and from prison to the 2nd place in Pharaoh’s palace.
Beloved, you cannot be kept in a prison if you can interpret your dream.

6So Potiphar left everything he had in Joseph’s care; with Joseph in charge, he did not concern himself with anything except the food he ate.Now Joseph was well-built and handsome, 7and after a while his master’s wife took notice of Joseph and said, “Come to bed with me!”8But he refused. “With me in charge,” he told her, “my master does not concern himself with anything in the house; everything he owns he has entrusted to my care” Genesis 39:6-8

14“Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his wealth to them. 15To one he gave five bags of gold, to another two bags, and to another one bag,a each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey. 16The man who had received five bags of gold went at once and put his money to work and gained five bags more. 17So also, the one with two bags of gold gained two more. 18But the man who had received one bag went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money.19“After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them. 20The man who had received five bags of gold brought the other five. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with five bags of gold. See, I have gained five more.’ 21“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ Matthew 25:14-21

God has entrusted each and every one of us with a at least a gift, talent and ability and He expects us to fully maximize it, our minimum return should be 100%.
This is possible, otherwise God will not expect or require it. God demands and requires us to be faithful in and with everything we are given by Him to do or possess. (1 Corinthians 4:2)
God gives us all we have according to the ability or grace He has given to us, He is neither unjust nor unrealistic.

We live in the last days and should be doing all we can do with what God has given us, we should not limit ourselves to one thing, true enlargement proceeds from being a faithful servant, even if you have one talent, God can make you multitalented or doubly talented, when He sees your faithfulness in your current estate.
Determine, not to be a person that earths or buries your talent, God has unearthed it, that we may showcase it.
May we never disappoint God, but be faithful stewards. May God open our eyes to see what is given to us and may we maximize it to His glory. (Amen)

The Power Of Persistence

Thursday, March 3 2016 | The Power Of Persistence| Pastor Olayinka Oderinde

per·sist·ence/ (pərˈsistəns) noun: persistence
(
firm or obstinate continuance in a course of action in spite of difficulty or opposition.
The continued or prolonged existence of something.)

persistence

KEY SCRIPTURES

Genesis 26:3-6
“Stay in this land for a while, and I will be with you and will bless you. For to you and your descendants I will give all these lands and will confirm the oath I swore to your father Abraham. 4I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and will give them all these lands, and through your offspringa all nations on earth will be blessed,b 5because Abraham obeyed me and did everything I required of him, keeping my commands, my decrees and my instructions.” 6So Isaac stayed in Gerar”

Luke 11:5-10
“Then Jesus said to them, “Suppose you have a friend, and you go to him at midnight and say, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread; 6a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I have no food to offer him.’ 7And suppose the one inside answers, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is already locked, and my children and I are in bed. I can’t get up and give you anything.’ 8I tell you, even though he will not get up and give you the bread because of friendship, yet because of your shameless audacitye he will surely get up and give you as much as you need.9“So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 10For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened”

As we continue in our 2016 journey into Rehoboth, we need to hear and adhere to these principles, some we have heard before, but we need to hear and do them over and over again

  1. God has a beautiful plan for each one of His children to guide and establish them in their Rehoboth.
  2. The stark obedience and reverence for God in the life of Abraham was replayed in the life of Isaac and benefitted him immensely.
  3. Challenges are stepping stones to be engaged, not storms to run from. We cannot stop famines but when in partnership with God, they can turn to our advantage. When a man gets prosperous in famine, his prosperity is enhanced and increased because of the scarcity and preciousness of his goods and services. This was what happened to Isaac, his produce carried greater value, because he was one of the few that had a harvest. Embrace and engage challenges to enjoy Rehoboth.
  4. We need to diversify and have multiple streams of income. Isaac was both a farmer and a shepherd and the river at the garden of Eden had 4 heads(streams)
  5. Hard work can never go out of fashion where prosperity is involved. We need to be balanced in spiritual, mental and physical work. We should not leave any out, prayer, planning and hard labor should be combined.
  6. Persistence is our key word this morning, we need to stay until it’s over. Though we walk away from some circumstances and strife, we should not let go of the dream, we need to wear out the devil in his game. We need to stay focused on the dream that God gave us and be unrelenting.
The man in Luke 5, did not get bread for his children because of his friendship but because of his persistence. Don’t give up easily, be PERSISTENT.
  7. To stay persistent, we need to set our sights on the joys of our goal and not on the hardships. We pray today for the grace to stay focused and persistent in the revealed will of God.
