Get stirred by the spirit of Prayer

2424 Prayer Work.

Wednesday June 16, 2021/ Prayer Work/ Sis. Oreoluwa Odunjo

1. Prayer is part of our duty and works as Christian. Whether it’s praying for ourselves or others. It’s important.
2. Pst. Creflo Dollar said prayer is permitting God to enter into our situation.
3. Don’t just think about what you want to happen by the end of the year but write it down and pray into it
Write it out, make a plan, prepare and PRAY
4. Prayer is like an arrow. It travels to the end of the earth
5. You know prayer transcends time. You can pray into the future. You can pray prayers that will affect generations. You can be here right now and praying for your grandkids. Praying for your great-grandkids. Praying for your generation.
6. You can pray into things you don’t even know yet.
7. You know some of you are living in what you prayed for. What you asked for is where you are now and you know what we are so quick to move on to the next prayer after one is answered that it is important every once in a while to look back on your life and just thank God. Just marvel at his goodness
8. I was reading an article about forgetfulness and the person said “It is a good thing be intentional about marking and commemorating those times in our lives where God’s grace and faithfulness are clearly seen so that we will not forget. And in remembering, we can be faithful to give God praise.
9. This all to say that prayer works. You don’t even have to look that far back to know this. God has been good to us.
Prayer works! Prayer is the key
10. All this to say prayer is important and I want us today to pray for the rest of our year. Let us not leave it to chance.

Key scripture:

James 5:13-18

Even when you don't feel it

2409 Even When You Don’t Feel It.

Wednesday May 26, 2021/ Even When You Don’t Feel It/ Sis. Oreoluwa Odunjo

1. Your feelings are not your reality
2. Just because you feel a certain way does not mean that that is the reality of the thing
3. The devil knows how to turn things around in your head to make them something they are not
Like I said earlier, your feelings are not your reality. As a born-again Christian, your reality is in the word of God. Your life is no longer tied to the tides and turns of this world. You have a new master.
4. Our peace doesn’t come from our feelings, it comes from the promises of God. When we stand on what he has said he gives us peace. Not because we feel it, but because he has said so
5. Our hope does not come from our feelings, it comes from the promises of God
6. Our joy doesn’t come from our feeling, it comes from the word of God and His promises
7. You have to fight for your joy, fight for your peace, fight for your hope
8. When thoughts that are not like God, combat them with the word of God, with his promises
9. As long as you are alive, you have an opportunity to make it right. It’s never too late.
10. We serve a tried and true God. Unchangeable, reliable, same God today, yesterday, and forever. Age to Age He stands
11. It is not all the words that you know that matter, it is the ones that you use. Even if it is just one verse that you know. Use it. They even have little books nowadays, even a google search where you can get the promises of God. “feeling sad, here are some promises of God to combat that”
12. This is how you not only survive but thrive. The word of God.
but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit
13. Set your mind on God, meditate on his word. You become what you set your eyes on
Your feelings are not your reality. Your feelings are not your truth. The truth is in the word of God. It is tried and true.
14. Even when I don’t feel it he’s working. Stand on it.

Key Verse:

Romans 8:35-37 Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? 36 (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”[a]) 37 No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.

Greater works through the Holy Spirit

2385 Greater Works Through The Holy Spirit.

Wednesday April 21, 2021/Greater Works Through The Holy Spirit/ Sis. Oreoluwa Odunjo

You know there are so many things God could have said to His disciples in this last in-person conversation he had with them.

■ He could have said, go and seek me and find me, which is good, it is noble, it’s nice, it’s even biblical. He could have said read your bible and pray every day. That’s good. He could have said love others as yourself. That’s even better… the greatest law of all. Honestly, you can truly spend your life here on earth just seeking God and you will leave a decent life but you will be selling yourself short if you do not keep sight of and act on these greater works

● Ecclesiastes 10:6-7 “Fools are put in many high positions while the rich occupy the low ones. I have seen slaves on horseback, while princes go on foot like slaves. ○ Living like this you will never occupy the place that God has created for us as believers. You will still be moving on foot which is slower than on a horse.

■ Joseph Prince example, God cannot guide a parked car ○ You know I don’t really watch a lot of videos about people going to heaven but I have found that sometimes they serve as a reminder that this is real. This life is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. We don’t do this again, it is a gift and it is truly what you make it. ● You know a lot of us to want to be in the background, not seen, not heard, just going to church in and out, going to work in and out because you are not there to make friends right. Just mind your business, but that is not the life God wants for you. It is easy to be in the background but God wants more for you. The word says in Matthew 5:14, You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. ○ Shift Work Bank Akinmola – those you work with should know you are Christian.

● 1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

● Jesus ultimately wants us to not only continue his works but do greater than he has done ○ While preparing for this, I was asking myself what does this truly mean and do I truly believe it and to be honest with you it is a bit hard to wrap your mind around and honestly quite easy to feel overwhelmed by this verse.

■ Jesus has turned water into wine (John 2:1–11).

■ He has read the mind of the woman of Samaria (John 4:18).

■ He has healed the official’s son (John 4:46–54).

■ He had healed the man crippled for 38 years (John 5:1–9).

■ He had fed 5,000 people with five loaves and two fish (John 5: 1–14).

■ He had walked on water (John 6:19).

■ He had healed a man born blind (John 9:1–7). ○ And then Jesus himself is saying that we can do better than that. ○ It can be overwhelming but if you look at the rest of the chapter

■ John 12:15-17 “If you love me, keep my commands. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be[c] in you.

■ Jesus consoles His disciples and says I am going, but it is better that I go because I am sending you an advocate who lives with you and will be with you forever. ○ So I encourage you as I encourage myself that when we think of greater works think less about yourself and your incapabilities and more about the Holy Spirit that lives in you and His ability

■ Look in your own power, you can’t do greater works. We are “korofo”. Nothing. Empty. We know nothing. It’s crazy because the older I get the more I realize I know absolutely nothing. But with the Holy Spirit who according to the word teaches all things and brings all things to our remembrance, we are able to do greater works than Jesus Christ, you just have to believe His word.

● Zechariah 4:6 ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ saith the Lord of hosts.

● There is this song that we used to sing. I think when I was in primary school in Nigeria, Good better best, I will never rest until my good is better and my better best. ○ Better is greater than good but best is the ultimate, you can’t get better than best. Greater has no end… it’s better than good. There is no limit to what you can do for God. It’s actually so hard to wrap your mind around in all honesty.

● Jesus didn’t give a limit to what You can do through him. He just said “greater” ○ If we read the amplified version: I assure you and most solemnly say to you, anyone who believes in Me [as Savior] will also do the things that I do, and he will do even greater things than these [in extent and outreach because I am going to the Father. ○ You know as I was writing this Jesus is almost saying the base point for what you should do is what He has done and then you can do greater. So our goal is not to do what Jesus did, that's just the beginning, he wants us to do greater and greater has no end. It just means better than before. ○ The word also says in 1 John 4:4 “greater is he that is in me, than he that, is in the world”

■ Greater is the Holy Spirit that is in you than he that is the world and because He is greater in you, you can do greater

■ I don't think we can truly comprehend how much greater is He in us than in the world. ○ The Holy Spirit will help you achieve all that God has put in you but you need to accept him and for those who have already done so, take that step.

■ God cant spend time with Himself for you. God cant do that research for you. God cant make that call for you. God cant ask that question for you.

● Example of myself having to make 2 decisions. The more information I got the clearer my answer became. ○ Holy Spirit comes to teach

● As I said earlier, Holy Spirit cannot guide a parked car

■ God has no limit, you can know God from now till the end and you will still not know everything. And this same God lives in you and I want to encourage you that there is no limit to what you can do for God. As I stated earlier, when we think of greater works, we should think more about the ability we know have in the Holy Spirit and less about our incapabilities. Don’t be overwhelmed. You can do it with your great helper by your side

● John 14:26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

● Romans 8: 26 Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. Jesus said we will do greater work but not by ourselves. We have to Joly spirit to help us. We just need to accept him and connect to Him Tap in. Songs: Spirit, spirit Anointing fall on me. Prayer

● Lord, help us to open our hearts to the Holy Spirit ○ We pray against any hardness, wrong doctrine, or closures in our heart

● Sensitivity to the Holy Spirit ○ Bank Akinmola book “Shift work” he talks about when he wanted to make a night

■ Give us the heart and courage to be obedient

● Give us the heart of the belief that will allow us to be sensitive to the Holy Spirt

● Lord let us not lose sight of our purpose. Let us not lose sight of eternity

● Our time here will not be cut short Lord ○ We want to do greater father works father

● Lord we thank you for your word

Key scriptures:

● Thank you so many Pastors for this opportunity and to ministers for paving the way. ● Our key verses for this year and for this sermon is John 14:12-17 - Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. 13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.15 “If you love me, keep my commands. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be[c] in you.

Deeper Living In The Fruit

2361 Deeper: Living In The Fruit.

Tuesday March 16, 2021/Deeper: Living In The Fruit./ Sis Oreoluwa Odunjo

1.Today I want us to pray about getting deeper. To pray for a revival in our spirits so that we can start living in the fruit
2. Being a child of God takes physical work. Church, serving, etc… and I don’t want to do that Lord and not enjoy its benefits/fruit
3. God has so much for us. He wants so much for us. He actually wants the best for us.
But for these thing to happen we have to go deeper to enjoy and live in the fruit
4. You cannot truly enjoy God or life unless you go deeper. But God has laid some things on my heart today that are stopping us from going deeper and I want us to pray against them today.
Ephesian 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of [a]the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
5. You are not fighting people, you are fighting against powers and principalities
One thing that holds many back from living in the fruit is offense, hurt, its people.
But when someone/situation hurts you remember that you are not fighting against flesh and blood but against powers and principalities
6. Another thing that stops you from living in the fruit is pride.
Matthew 16:25 For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it.
And as you get deeper in God, he will change your perspective
You can look at Galatians yourself and take inventory. You know yourself. Because people will know you by your fruit. Are you producing the fruits. We see clear instructions in Psalm 1:1-3
Remember it is not your job to produce the fruit, they are have the spirit but you have to submit yourself to God
Delight in my law and meditate on my word and you will produce fruit

Key scriptures:

Psalm 1:1-3 Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take  or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.
